Laporta addresses Araujo future

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has insisted the club want Ronald Araujo to stay.

The centre-back has been linked with a January exit, with Juventus said to be pushing to sign him and Arsenal also among the clubs interested.

Laporta was asked for an update this morning and his comments suggest Barcelona are still trying to persuade Araujo to stay where he is.

“We want Ronald to stay,” he said.

“We appreciate him very much, both professionally, personally. We have a very direct relationship.

“For some circumstances, which I don't want to say, he is now talking to the sporting area. There is still room for a solution.”
